The finished AllianceBernstein space combined state-of-the-art finishes and unique design elements. Harpeth Painting’s project spanned eight floors, covered more than 190,000 square feet of open office space, private offices and an executive suite level, and required 2,000 yards of felt wallcovering with over 150 distinct elevations which, specifically, proved a unique obstacle to the project.

The Harpeth Painting team developed an in-house design manual and prefabrication system outlining the elevations for each office. A crew lead was responsible for cutting and labeling the colors for each room, and those sections of wallcovering were then rolled, labeled by room, and transported to the field. For the installation, the crew lead packed each wallcovering with a copy of office elevation design instructions.

Additionally, Harpeth Painting alongside Layton Construction’s leadership executed the project on-schedule at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with revised deadlines and material shortages.

Harpeth Painting’s materials included Benjamin Moore Ultraspec primer, Ultraspec 500, Coronado superkote dryfall and Coronado Rustscat, as well as Scuffmaster environmental for elevator doors and Permalac matte black on steel staircases. In light of the pandemic, Harpeth Painting worked directly with suppliers and representatives to meet Alliance Bernstein’s expectations with the available products.
